A standing and transfer aid gives the user handles to pull on and a footplate to brace against while a carer helps them to their feet and moves them a short distance, for example from bed to chair.\n\nIt may suit a household where transfers have become difficult but the person can still take some of their own weight and follow instructions.\n\nImportant limitations: this equipment is used with a carer, not independently. It is not suitable for someone who cannot weight-bear at all. Training in safe use is strongly recommended, and an occupational therapist or moving-and-handling assessment is advisable.
